A bonded screed floor is where a screed has been installed over the top of the concrete slab and bonded to the slab using an adhesive.
This is distinguishable from an unbonded screed floor where no adhesive has been used and the screed is separated or isolated from the slab normally by using builders plastic.
A bonded screed floor is a very typical installation and as the screed takes part of its strength from the concrete slab to which it is is bonded.
This allows bonded screeds to be installed at a thiner thickness, down to 15mm for traditional sand cement screeds or 10mm for certain engineered screeds such as ScreedMax Pro.
